The aim of this study is to demonstrate the applicability of the multi criterion decision methods
(MCDM) used in the fisheries sector in order to solve the facility location problems. In the
literature, especially in Mauritania, it was observed that the fishing enterprises did not conduct
studies related to the selection of facility location by using the MCDM methods. It is thought
that this aspect of the study will contribute to the literature of Mauritania business science.
Profitability Comparison and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) methods were used to
determine the optimum facility location in the application section of the study. The required
data for the analysis were obtained from the relevant enterprises. Certain managers of relevant
enterprises have been considered as decision makers. As a result of two different methods;
optimum location A1 (Nouadhibou) was ranked first, A2 (Nouakchott) was second and A4
(Peka) was the third. The results of the study were shared with the managers of the relevant
enterprises. Hybrid or artificial intelligence based methods can be used in future studies.
Çalışmanın amacı, balıkçılık sektöründe faaliyet gösteren işletmelerinin sıklıkla karşılaştıkları
tesis yerleştirme problemlerinin çözümünde çok kriterli karar verme (ÇKKV) yöntemlerinin
uygulanabilirliğini göstermektir. Literatürde, özellikle Moritanya’da balıkçılık işletmelerinin
ÇKKV metotlarını kullanılarak tesis yeri seçimi ile ilgili çalışma yapmadıkları gözlenmiştir.
Çalışmanın bu yönü ile Moritanya işletme bilimi literatürüne katkı sağlayacağı
düşünülmektedir. Çalışmanın uygulama bölümünde optimum tesis yerinin belirlenmesinde
Kârlılık Karşılaştırma ve Analitik Hiyerarşi Prosesi (AHP) yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Analiz
için gerekli veriler ilgili işletmelerden temin edilmiştir. İlgili işletmelerin belirli yöneticileri
karar vericiler olarak kabul edilmiştir. İki farklı yöntemle gerçekleştirilen hesaplamalar
neticesinde; en uygun konum A1 (Nouadhibou) birinci sırada, A2 (Nouakchott) ikinci ve A4
(Peka) üçüncü sırada bulunmuştur. Çalışmanın sonuçları ilgili işletmelerin yöneticileri ile
paylaşılmıştır. Gelecekte yapılacak benzer çalışmalarda hibrit veya yapay zekâ temelli
yöntemler kullanılabilir.
